Catching up on life...

Here's the photo I wanted to take- This is the one they wanted to take-
"There's a lesson there." That's what my mom would say...
Moving on to this past week- What a great week! Mom was here for a visit and we got to spend time together talking, eating out, watching a couple chick flicks, solving ALL (and I mean ALL) of the world's problems, and enjoying time with the boys. I had a lot of fun and I think I can safely say she did, too. Thanks, Mom.
Updates on the boys- here's Tom: Thomas has been working hard on his rifle drilling. He's crazy about it and he spends lots of time working on it. He is trying to put together a routine so he can persuade the Sea Cadet higher ups to let him start a drill team. He takes it with him wherever we go and will show his mad skilz to anyone who will watch. He was fortunate enough to get to be BJ's show and tell for school a couple weeks ago. Then, we had some extra time in Fredericksburg at the Visitor's Center and he shared the joy with passers by.
Jason is crazy into reading right now. Over the last few weeks he's read The Hobbit and the first Lord of the Rings book, the Warriors, and he is reading Treasure Island for school. He's liking that one, which is cool because he wasn't so sure in the begining. He has started eating, finally! I know that may sound strange being that he's nine, but he has been one of the world's pickiest eaters for, like, ever- now he is trying all kinds of foods. Huge relief. The kid is a little skinny. He is the most interested in learning about robots and how to make them. Uh, yeah, that's a challenge for me. But, we are working on it.
I am working on Heart Gallery stuff, as usual. And, I am loving it, as usual. It is the most satisfying work I do. I am looking into other kinds of work with needy and sick kids. I'll let you know what comes about on that front. Otherwise, I'm doing portrait work and really liking the jobs I've been doing. I was thrilled to photograph an adoption this past Friday- what a treat! I could hardly compose myself, let alone a photograph- but we made it through, tears of joy and all. And, it was a Heart Gallery adoption to a great person, family, and friend.
